There was plenty of World Cup qualification action from Africa across the day on Friday.
This is what went down.
Scorers: Ciss OG 4′
It is advantage Egypt in their World Cup play-off shootout with Senegal after a narrow first leg win at home.
Egypt took the lead after just four minutes when they pounced after slack Senegal play in their own half, freeing Mo Salah to blast a shot against the crossbar which rebounded back off the helpless Saliou Ciss and into the net.
That proved to be the only goal of the game in Cairo.
The sides next meet in Senegal next Tuesday.
Old rivals Ghana and Nigeria played out a very scoreless draw in Kumasi in the first leg of their crunch play-off to reach Qatar.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku had the best opportunity of the opening half for Ghana but saw his stinging drive saved by Francis Uzoho.
After the interval, there was late drama as Nigeria were awarded a penalty for a handball in the area but following a VAR review, the decision was overturned for a foul in the build-up.
The teams meet again next Tuesday in Nigeria where the victor will book their ticket to the World Cup.
