Caio Henrique (26) hasn’t played for AS Monaco since suffering an ACL injury whilst playing against local rivals OGC Nice on 22nd September 2023. However, the Brazil international is now nearing a return.
The road back has been long and arduous for Henrique, who underwent surgery on his ACL injury in October. However, as Adi Hütter revealed in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, the left-back is likely to be included in the matchday squad to face Lille OSC on Wednesday.
“Caio, for the first time after a long injury, could be on the substitute bench,” began the Austrian coach. “He won’t play any minutes. He has done lots of work to get back here. He could be available for the last couple of games. It is a good sign for the team but not in my mind to bring him in for this game.”
Hütter specified that Henrique had also resumed full contact training this week. In his absence, it will be either Kassoum Ouattara or Krépin Diatta who will start on Wednesday, with Ismail Jakobs also likely to miss the end of the season.
