34 minutes into the Supercoppa Italiana final in Riyadh, SImone Inzaghi was forced into his first change. Calhanoglu appeared to be struggling with a possible adductor issue and was unable to make it even to half-time.
He was replaced by Kristjan Asllani with the scores level at 0-0 at the time.
The Türkiye international, who has been one of Inter’s most consistent performers over the last few seasons, has not been without his injury troubles in 2024-25.
He missed a handful of games in October after another adductor injury, and also missed a few matches after picking up a groin issue while away on international duty with Türkiye in November.
