Calvin Bassey has reacted brilliantly on social media after Rangers secured a 3-2 victory over bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic at Parkhead today, with an 88th-minute goal from Hamza Igamane handing the Ibrox club a morale-boosting victory ahead of the international break.
Rangers went 2-0 up in the opening 37 minutes through goals from Nicolas Raskin and Mohammed Diomande, but the hosts pegged them back in the second-half and both clubs were left pushing for the winner.
It was the Light Blues who got it through one of the substitutes interim manager Barry Ferguson introduced into the game, and former Rangers star Bassey was thrilled with the result.
Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge caught up with the Fulham defender some hours after the game, and here is how he reacted to the victory on X.
Rangers did a good job against Celtic and Ferguson will hope they can do the same when they play Athletic Bilbao in the quarter-final of the Europa League next month.
The Light Blues are 13 points behind the Hoops after 30 games in the Scottish Premiership campaign this term, and while they are still mathematically in the title race, pipping the reigning champions to it will be tricky as Celtic are not expected to experience a huge dip in form over the next eight games.
Rangers are back in action in a fortnight when they travel to face Dundee FC before hosting Hibernian the following weekend, and winning those games will put them in the right frame of mind before facing Bilbao in the first-leg of the last-eight.
The Gers will fancy their chances against the La Liga club after dumping Fenerbahce out of the competition in the round of 16, and advancing to the semi-finals will be huge for them.
