The Carabao Cup will once again be the first piece of silverware on offer in the 2024/25 season - Community Shield notwithstanding - and the wheels are already in motion in regards to the competition's start.
The new campaign would've barely gotten underway by the time round one kicks off in August, with the Premier League big boys getting their respective campaigns underway in the third round, scheduled for mid-September.
There may be an absence of prestige, but it's a competition and piece of silverware that shouldn't be scoffed at. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City previously made a habit of lifting the trophy pre-Premier League title tilts, while Liverpool, during Jurgen Klopp's swan song, are the holders.

The Carabao Cup final will once again be the first piece of domestic silverware on offer for English clubs in 2024/25. However, the final will take place a little later this time around and has been scheduled for 16 March 2025.
The 2024/25 Carabao Cup final will be played at its traditional home of Wembley Stadium.

It was quite the occasion when Liverpool met Chelsea in the 2024 Carabao Cup final. Riddled by injuries, Jurgen Klopp's side were short-handed and eventually forced to turn to youth in the competition's showpiece event.
An expensive Chelsea squad, one that had underperformed in the Premier League, rocked up at Wembley with high hopes but ended the afternoon as the "billion-pound bottle jobs" after Virgil van Dijk headed home the final's only goal towards the end of extra time.
Liverpool added to their record haul of Carabao Cups last season. Their 2024 success was the club's tenth League Cup victory.
Manchester City had closed the gap on the Reds by winning the competition six times since 2014 to take their tally up to eight. Manchester United lifted the trophy for the sixth time in 2023 but were knocked out early on against Newcastle last time out.
Aston Villa and Chelsea are both five-time winners, although the Villans haven't won the competition since 1996. Nottingham Forest and Tottenham have chalked up four triumphs apiece.
