Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Friday moved to make clear his frustration with the powers that be in Spanish football.

This comes owing to La Liga’s scheduling for the upcoming gameweek.

Real Madrid will for their part return to action on the domestic front on Saturday evening, in a La Liga meeting with Villarreal at El Madrigal.

The fixture marks a crucial one for Los Blancos, amid their ongoing efforts to keep pace with Barcelona atop the table.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of Carlo Ancelotti being altogether unhappy with the quick turnaround into which his side have been forced.

Real are fresh off playing out a full 120 minutes of intense action in the Madrid Derby in the Champions League in midweek.

This means that they have been afforded just two days of rest, before locking horns with Villarreal.

Speaking to the media during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, boss Ancelotti therefore made clear:

“We don’t understand why we play tomorrow. The bare minimum time to recover is 72 hours.”
