Carlos Tevez is the new manager of Argentine Primera División club Rosario Central.
Tevez only announced his retirement from playing on 4 June, but already the 38-year-old former striker has been handed the opportunity to take over at Central, who have been without a permanent manager since Kily González was dismissed in March.
Helping Tevez in the role will be Carlos Retegui, a former Argentine international field hockey player and coach.
After finishing 16th in 2021, Central have had a difficult start to the new campaign and currently sit 22nd in the table having won just one of their first four matches.
Boca Juniors icon Tevez was in attendance to watch his new charges lose 2-0 to Vélez Sársfield on Monday, and now he will be hoping to inspire a quick change in fortunes.
