Mariano Torres had another chance for the Costa Rica side in the 33’ with right-footed finish inside the box that was denied by Comunicaciones goalkeeper Fredy Pérez.

Comunicaciones opened the scoring in the 57’ through a finish from Diego Casas to capitalize on a loose ball inside the box.  The goal took Casas’ tally to four to extend his lead for the Guatemalan side.

Javon East equalized for Saprissa in the 63’ with a goal from close range following a corner.

Torres came close to finding the winner for Saprissa with an attempt inside the box in the 82’, but his shot was met by a stop from Pérez.

Comunicaciones and Saprissa will meet again in the second leg next Tuesday in Costa Rica. The winner, on aggregate, will secure a spot in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
