Il Corriere dello Sport analyses Joao Felix’s first two appearances with Milan, saying that the Portuguese can change the Rossoneri ‘alone’ as he offers Sergio Conceiçao unique tactical options.

The Portuguese striker joined the Rossoneri on loan from Chelsea on the deadline day but has already had a considerable impact at San Siro.

Joao Felix scored on his debut as a substitute against Roma in Coppa Italia last week and played 84 minutes in a 2-0 win over Empoli on Saturday.

Corriere dello Sport journalist Antonello Gioia wrote that the Portugal international could change Milan ‘alone’ thanks to his unpredictability and versatility.

His January move to San Siro, in fact, has allowed Conceiçao to switch Milan’s tactical system as the Portuguese coach picked a 4-4-2 system in Empoli.

Joao Felix played mostly behind a sole striker and made 53 touches all over Milan’s final third, but also in the Rossoneri’s defensive box, as you can see below.

Joao Felix produced one shot on target against Empoli, touched the ball inside the opponents’ box 10 times and completed one key pass among the 20 he completed.

Joao Felix began the 2024-2025 season with Chelsea, making 12 Premier League appearances (nine as a substitute) and scoring one goal. In the UEFA Europa Conference League, he featured in five matches (two as a substitute), netting four times. He also scored two goals in an FA Cup match.

He has joined Milan on a dry loan deal from the Blues, meaning the Serie A giants don’t have an option to buy him permanently next summer.
