Celtic announce sensational Jota return

Celtic have confirmed the return of fan favourite former winger Jota - just 18 months after leaving.

The Portuguese 'superstar' left for Saudi Arabia in a £25m move but lasted just one disappointing season at Al-Ittihad before leaving for Ligue 1.

His time at Rennes, who are set to welcome Celtic striker Kyogo in the opposite direction, was equally frustrating - paving the way for a shock return to Parkhead.

Jota returns for a reported fee of £9m and has signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the Scottish champions.

During his first spell at the club, the 25-year-old won every domestic honour available to him and scored 28 goals and provided 26 assists.

He is being tipped to wear the number 23 jersey on his return.
