Celtic are enjoying a great season despite their recent problems against the Rangers. Brendan Rodgers' side are closing in on a potential treble. The last manager to win all three domestic trophies with the Hoops was Ange Postecoglou. He left days later to join Tottenham Hotspur and it is safe to say that the Australian is having a tough time at the London club right now.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the bottom half of the Premier League table. In fact, it is somewhat surprising that the club have not sacked Postecoglou so far. In the past, they have shown lesser patience with bigger names like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

One cannot overlook the injury problems that Tottenham Hotspur have had to deal with, which has made it even more difficult for Postecoglou to get results. But his future at the club might now be directly linked with what happens in the UEFA Europa League.

Unlike some rumours, it looks like a decision has not been made on Postecoglou's future, yet. Fabrizio Romano wrote for GIVEMESPORT:

"Sources at the club guarantee that no decision has been made so far as there’s still an important competition ongoing: the path to the Europa League final doesn’t look impossible for Tottenham Hotspur, with the club feeling they can make something special happen.Ange Postecoglou’s hopes to keep his job at Spurs are now strictly linked to performances in Europe. Winning the trophy would be an important achievement of course - it’d also mean Champions League football next season and the opportunity for Postecoglou to continue his project at Spurs. But if Spurs are not able to win the Europa League or even show their best version until the very end, there is a high possibility to see a managerial change at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer."

Spurs have not won a trophy in more than a decade now. So, if Postecoglou is able to bring silverware to the club, it is very likely that he will be given more time in the hot seat, no matter where they finish in the Champions League.

But if Postecoglou fails to lead Tottenham Hotspur to the Europa League this season, it is hard to imagine that he would get much more time at the club. A summer sacking is still very much on the cards for the Aussie boss.

For now, he is still the Spurs manager. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the former Celtic manager and all eyes are on the Europa League.
