Brendan Rodgers has had his stumbles during his second stint at Celtic. But overall, nobody can deny the success that he has brought to the club once again. The Hoops won a Premiership and Scottish Cup double in the previous campaign and are closing in on a domestic treble this time around. In Europe, the Northern Irishman has actually done better than his first run in Glasgow.

Celtic made it to the knockout phase of the Champions League for the first time in over a decade. And they were seconds away from winning against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena over 90 minutes and taking the tie to extra-time.

Naturally, Celtic fans will want to see Rodgers remain at the club for the foreseeable future. But he has only one more season, after this, on his deal.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are set to sit down for showdown talks with Rodgers over his future in the off-season. A long-term deal is up for grabs if discussions proceed smoothly.

It is easy to forget but Rodgers is still just 52 years of age. So, another foray into a top-five European league might interest him at this point in his career.

He has already achieved a lot down in England. He won the FA Cup with Leicester City and almost guided Liverpool to Premier League glory years before Jurgen Klopp.

What about managing a top club somewhere else though? La Liga? Bundesliga? Serie A? Ligue 1? The possibilities are endless and one would imagine that there would be no lack of interest in Rodgers' signature if he did become available. But then again, he did grow up supporting Celtic and the idea of having a long and historic run with the Hoops might be attractive to him as well.
