They have taken a healthy 11-point lead over Rangers in the Premiership, but Brendan Rodgers’ side are unlikely to lose their focus.

Ahead of the match, Rodgers has confirmed to the reporters that James Forrest has picked up an injury and faces six weeks on the sidelines.

The 33-year-old picked up an injury during the League Cup final against the Gers.

Losing James Forrest is a big blow for Celtic

Forrest has played all his career at Celtic after coming through the youth ranks at the club.

He has another year on his contract, and Celtic may look to extend it if he remains fit.

The Bhoys winger picked up his 25th Celtic trophy last week, which is an incredible achievement.

He now shares the record with the legendary Bobby Lennox and will almost certainly be seen as the most decorated Celtic player in the club’s history.

Forrest has made five starts in the league, and a further ten appearances have come from the bench this season.

The 39-times capped Scotland winger has made over 515 appearances for Celtic, scoring 108 goals.

Forrest will miss several key games, including the clash with Rangers on January 2.
