Celtic superstar tipped to join Everton this summer

Coming out of another Glasgow Derby defeat, there is a lot to discuss about that game. One aspect has to be the fact that Celtic conceded three goals against the Rangers again. They did the same in the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden Park and also earlier this year at Ibrox. That makes it three-straight games in which the Ibrox club have found the back of their net thrice.

That is something that needs to change as soon as possible. Celtic cannot keep conceding three goals against the Rangers consistently and then hope to win the derbies.

Of course, they won't be helped in that regard if Cameron Carter-Vickers ends up leaving the club. The American international has been at Parkhead for four seasons now though and it would not come as a surprise if he does end up seeking a new challenge in the summer, and a potential return to the Premier League.

Carter-Vickers has been tipped for a potential move to Everton. As reported by Football Insider, Paul Robinson said:

"I don’t think there’s a real need to replace James Tarkowski.“The issue they’ve had at Everton is Michael Keane.“His form has been up and down this season, so there’s an opportunity there to replace him if he does move on this summer.“Carter-Vickers, you can see the quality he’s got, he’s played well this season, specifically in the Champions League.“If Michael Keane moves on the gap opens up for Everton to rebuild.“But if Keane is happy with his role as a bit-part player, he’s not going to be challenging the first-choice centre-backs.“Cameron Carter-Vickers would fit that mould and I can certainly see him making a return to the Premier League."

Carter-Vickers might feel that he has some unfinished business in the Premier League. He spent so many years at Tottenham Hotspur but spent most of his time out on loan at various Championship teams.

It is at Celtic that Carter-Vickers has proven that he can play at the top level. Now, in his prime, a return to the Premier League would make a ton of sense for the American and Everton seems like the type of club were he can succeed.

Of course, Celtic fans will hope that Carter-Vickers remains at the club for the foreseeable future. He is the stalwart at the back for the club and someone who has the attributes to be a future captain if he does end up remaining long-term at Parkhead.
