Bayern Munich are a quality side, there is no doubt about it. From back to front they are a formidable force with experienced and talented players such as Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, and Harry Kane, who are just an example of the quality we will be tasked with overcoming on the night if we have any ambition of advancing to the last 16 of football’s premier club competition.
It will be an extremely difficult task, I think we all know that, but we have the ability to make it happen. To be successful in our aim we will need to show that ability on the night. That means being at the top of our game for the 90 plus minutes, make no silly mistakes, and be clinical with the chances that come our way.

Having belief in ourselves is also key to being successful. We have it in abundance domestically, but sometimes lack it when we play in Europe especially against elite sides like Bayern.
We need that belief. We need to believe deep down that we aren’t here to make up the numbers and are well capable of beating Bayern Munich. We will give them respect but can’t afford to give them too much, let’s go at them right from the start and let them know they’re in a game.
Celtic belongs at this level, we want to stay at this level. Let’s prove that tonight.
And if the support needs a top performance from every single player then team must get every ounce of energy, encouragement and Celtic Noise coming from the stands. No-one with Celtic in their hearts can afford to leave anything in the tank tonight – go home drained, exhausted, with a lost voice but with a huge grin on your faces.

“What will remain consistent, is the Celtic support and with those guys behind you anything is possible,” Tommy Gemmell
