As we head towards the summer transfer window, it looks like Celtic could be aiming to strengthen in a few positions across the pitch. One of them appears to be their midfield. The club have already been linked with Kalidou Sidibe of Guingamp, the defensive midfielder who is also the tallest player in Ligue 2. But on the other hand, it looks like they also have a Liverpool player on their sights.
Celtic have been linked with a number of Liverpool players in recent years. Last season, they even signed Nat Phillips on loan, although the move did prove to be a failure.
Now, it looks like they have a veteran midfielder on their radar. As reported by Ekrem Konur, AC Milan, Celtic, Fulham, Wolverhampton and Ipswich Town are considering the transfer of Liverpool's Wataru Endo to strengthen their midfield.
Of course, this is not the first time that Celtic have been linked with a move for Endo either. He was also rumoured to be on their radar in the previous summer transfer window, although nothing ended up coming out of that.
It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for Endo in the summer. He is not getting much playing time at Liverpool at the moment.
But he does have a contract with the club that runs until the summer of 2027. So, Celtic would have to pay a transfer fee if they want to sign him in the summer window.
Liverpool were believed to have shelled out a fee in the region of £16 million to sign Endo. But surely, they cannot expect anything close to that, considering he has not made a single Premier League start this season and spent most of his time sitting on the bench for Arne Slot's side.
Also, it is worth pointing out that Endo is 32 years of age. That is not the profile that Celtic typical go out and spend a significant transfer fee on.
