Chelsea are about to offload Cesare Casadei for good.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has reported on X that Chelsea have decided to sell Casadei in the January transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Torino will pay Chelsea a transfer fee of €15 million (£12.5 million) for the Italian youngster.
Romano has added that Casadei has completed his medical at Torino already, claiming that 22-year-old midfielder has already signed a contract with the Serie A club.
Casadei is a very talented and promising young midfielder, and he has made the right decision to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues in 2022 after leaving Inter Milan.
Much was expected of the youngster when he moved to Stamford Bridge, but he has not progressed as much as he would have liked.
The youngster had loan spells at Reading and Leicester City in recent years and could make only a handful of appearances for the Chelsea first team.
Under Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca this season, Casadei was able to play just six matches in all competitions.
The midfielder is clearly not part of Maresca’s plans, and it made perfect sense for him to find a new club in his native Italy.
Torino are an established club in Italy. I Granata finished ninth in the Serie A table last season and are currently 10th in the standings.
The Turin outfit are a stable club, and Casadei could flourish there.
When Casadei gets his chance and a run of games, he has to make the most of them and impress head coach Paolo Vanoli.
Meanwhile, Chelsea find themselves sixth in the Premier League table with 40 points from 23 matches, just a point behind fourth-placed and defending champions Manchester City.
