Back in January, Chelsea failed with multiple bids to sign Deportivo La Coruna starlet Yeremay Hernandez, who has lit up the Segunda Division this season. And they could now miss out altogether as another club is prepared to spend big on the 22-year-old.
It has been a breakout season for Yeremay, who has 14 goals and five assists in 36 Segunda appearances. But more than his goal output, his performances have attracted strong attention, and Chelsea are only one of multiple clubs keeping tabs on his situation.
Another club that want to sign Yeremay is Como, who are managed by ex-Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas. And according to Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A side are planning to activate his Deportivo release clause during the summer transfer window.
“Understand Como are intending to pay release clause in excess of €30m for Deportivo gem Yeremay. Cesc Fabregas has wanted Yeremay at Como since January and talks now continue on personal terms, discussions underway. Contract terms remain the key step to get the deal done.”

Como have already swooped to sign a number of players from Spain since their Serie A promotion last summer, including the likes of Assane Diao and Alex Valle. Yeremay could be the latest to head to Italy, and while it would be disappointing for Deportivo to lose a key player, bringing in €30m would be massive in helping them making a sustained push for promotion to La Liga in the future.
Arsenal have also been linked with Yeremay, but at this stage, he is most likely to link up with Fabregas at Como. It would be very interesting to see how he would get on in Serie A, especially when considering how well Diao has done since his January move from Real Betis.
