Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas says that one Chelsea player is the reason that they are now playing European football this season.

Of course, it’s only the Europa Conference League, but at least Chelsea are playing in Europe again this season, unlike last season.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now watching NEW Premier League striker name THIS season!!

Chelsea were poor for a huge chunk of last season, despite having a bit of a late surge. But one player who was not poor and who basically carried them at times, is Cole Palmer.

Palmer is basically THE Chelsea news this week, everyone is talking about him and how good he is, and he deserves it with his form from the last two seasons.

Fabregas the latest to praise Palmer

It’s a Cole Palmer world

Speaking on the BBC Planet Premier League Podcast, Cesc Fabregas has been discussing Palmer’s time at Chelsea, and he says that the 22-year-old was underrated last season due to how poorly Chelsea were playing as a whole.

“This year things are getting better, but last year it was a difficult moment for Chelsea, and people respect more what he does,” Fabregas said.

“Nobody really realised, every now and then you would see on a Saturday, a goal from Cole Palmer but they lost, an assist for Palmer but they lost.

“Nobody got it all together that he was doing really well, but Chelsea are in Europe this year and a big percentage of that is because of Cole Palmer’s performances last season, he was outstanding.”

I think he is absolutely spot on here.
