Atalanta look to Mateo Retegui and Charles De Ketelaere to overturn the controversial Champions League play-off defeat against Club Brugge, while Ademola Lookman returns to the bench.
It kicks off at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo at 20.00 GMT.
La Dea had been content enough with a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Belgium until the ridiculous stoppage-time penalty awarded over Isak Hien holding an arm across Gustaf Nilsson.
That 2-1 result means Atalanta need to win by one clear goal this evening to force extra time, or more than that to win the play-off outright and enter the Round of 16.
Hien will not get his chance for revenge, because he sustained an adductor injury and will be out of action for three weeks, further adding to the injury crisis.
Also on the treatment table are Daniel Maldini, former Brugge defender Odilon Kossounou, Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini.
At least Sead Kolasinac and Ademola Lookman are back in the squad, but Juan Cuadrado and Mario Pasalic are preferred to Raoul Bellanova and Lazar Samardzic.

Club Brugge have the 2-1 advantage to fall back on going to Bergamo and their only absentee due to injury is Bjorn Meijer.
Ferran Jutglà starts upfront again with Christos Tzolis in support.
The Belgians had a strong league phase in the tournament, beating Sturm Graz, Aston Villa and Sporting CP, while holding Celtic and Juventus to draws.
