The Whites aren't keen to offload Wober during the January transfer window, despite the fact he has barely featured this term.
Leeds United are reluctant to let Max Wober leave Elland Road during the January transfer window.
This is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who believe the Whites wouldn't be keen to let the Austria international leave despite the fact he has barely featured for the West Yorkshire side during the 2024/25 campaign.
Wober joined as a very promising central defender back in January 2023 under Jesse Marsch, but couldn't prevent the club from being relegated at the end of the 2022/23 season.
He then made a loan move to Borussia Mönchengladbach last year, making the switch to the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan deal.
The centre-back was one of many players who decided to exercise a clause to secure a temporary move away from Elland Road - and quite a few of those players who were out on loan last term have either gone out on loan again or have departed permanently.
Wober and Brenden Aaronson, however, have stayed put. Aaronson has won a decent amount of game time in West Yorkshire during the 2024/25 campaign thus far - and will be pleased about that following his loan stay at Union Berlin.
Wober, unlike Aaronson, has barely featured for Daniel Farke's side this term.
Even though Ethan Ampadu has been out of action, which could have opened up an opportunity for the Austrian to make some appearances at centre-back, he hasn't been able to play regularly.
Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk have been picked as starting options ahead of him - and that has been detrimental to Wober in his quest to make more of an impact.
With a player of Wober's calibre barely featuring, a January exit could be on the horizon for the 26-year-old.
However, Leeds wouldn't be keen to let him go during the winter window, according to TEAMtalk, considering the lack of senior depth they have in the centre-back department.
Wober has only featured twice in the league this term, and those came in substitute appearances against Swansea City and Luton Town.
These games were fairly recent, and that could give him some hope that he will make more appearances in the coming months.
But Ampadu could be back fairly shortly and that may limit the Austrian's game time even more, which wouldn't be ideal.
With this in mind, Wober needs to consider a January exit, and Leeds also need to consider whether it's beneficial for them to retain him.
He may be on a fairly decent wage - and Leeds could move to replace him with one or two centre-backs if he goes.
