The 2024/25 season is nearing an end for our Juventus Women, even with so much still left to play for. With the summer approaching though, it’s not inappropriate to look ahead to next season, and a new-look campaign awaits in the Italian women’s game.

So, what lies ahead in the 2025/26 season for the Bianconere?

SERIE A

Serie A is again changing its structure next season, with the 10-team league becoming an expanded, 12-team division. This season sees just one team get relegated to Serie B and three promoted to see the top flight have more teams from next season on.

The 12-team Serie A will mean an end to the Poule Scudetto and Poule Salvezza, and instead the league campaign will consist of 22 matchdays, with each side playing one another twice (once home, once away).

ITALIAN CUP

There will be no changes to the Italian Cup format for next season. It will begin with a preliminary stage consisting of the newly-promoted sides in Serie B. Then, the rest of Serie B and the bottom-four ranked Serie A sides will enter - according to the rankings that are still to be confirmed - in this, the ‘first round’.

From the ‘second round’, the remaining eight Serie A teams will take part.

As was the case this season, the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be two-legged ties.

A NEW COMPETITION

It is still to be named, but a new competition will be added to the Italian women’s football calendar.

The new competition will consist of the 12 Serie A clubs, and they will be split into three four-team groups, who will fact off in a ‘concentrated’ format. The four group winners will then be joined by the best-ranked second-placed side in a ‘final four’ format.

The new competition will take place before the Serie A season begins.
