Chelsea failed in January approach for Barcelona star | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was the subject of winter approach on the part of Premier League outfit Chelsea.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Què t’hi jugues, who point towards Marc Casadó as the player in question.

Midfielder Casadó is for his part in the midst of something of a breakout campaign in Catalunya’s capital to date.

Taking advantage of an early-season injury crisis in Barcelona’s ranks in the middle of the park, the 21-year-old took advantage to establish himself as a key member of Hansi Flick’s squad.

And such endeavours on Casadó’s part have not gone at all unnoticed in England.

As per MD, a number of Premier League clubs have long set their sights on the Spanish international, whose combative nature is considered a perfect fit for English football.

One such outfit come in the form of Chelsea, who, after first expressing an interest in Casadó last summer, returned to the table for his signature in January.

The midfielder himself, however, made clear to the Blues and Barcelona alike that he has absolutely no intention of departing the latter any time soon.
