Do you all remember the last time they tried to start a European Super League? Remember how Chelsea fans rallied around to protest about it?

Well, expect scenes like that once again if the club even think about trying to enter such a league, and there is one being started up again, just with a re-brand.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea ‘seriously consider’ January approach for Premier League centre back!!

Chelsea fans will be ready to go to war again if this comes to fruition, just as they did before when scenes of Petr Cech having to go out and reason with Blues fans when the owners looked like they were going to go and join this break off European competition. They eventually backed away and pulled out of the new competition.

Now it’s back, with new plans, and a new name, and it sounds hysterical.

Super League returns

Here we go again….

Journalist Ben Jacobs has just reported this on X:

‘The European Super League has relaunched as ‘The Unify League’. New format will have annual qualification. The proposal now as four tiers (star, gold, blue and ‘union’). A22, promoters of the league, haven also written to UEFA asking for official endorsement.’

The Unify League sounds ridiculous I must say, and this shouldn’t even begin to get off the ground just for the name alone! Terrible, TERRIBLE name!

I hope Chelsea steer well clear of this, but unfortunately in football, money does the talking and if there is a chance for clubs to earn more money, then they will always be appealed by that. Football is a business after all.

We will have to wait and see the full details surrounding this new league proposal, but I am sure it will be met with the same kind of opposition as it was before, and FIFA and UEFA will be very strict and hard on any clubs who decide to join it.
