With not much time left in the summer transfer window, FC Barcelona are focusing their efforts on sanctioning the exits of some of their players so that they can make at least one if not more, last-minute additions.

As things stand, strengthening the left-wing spot takes priority while Barcelona are not ruling out a move for a full-back like Joao Cancelo either.

Reports on Tuesday further suggested that the Catalans were no longer looking to sign a new pivot midfielder despite having started the summer with the idea of bolstering the position.

However, the Blaugrana could well be provided with a window of opportunity to sign a midfielder before the deadline day.

Chelsea ready to part ways with Carney Chukwuemeka

This is because one of Barcelona’s targets for the midfield department, Carney Chukwuemeka, will be allowed to leave Chelsea before the transfer window closes.

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, the 20-year-old midfield starlet is now available on the market, even on loan, thanks to the overbooking of players at Chelsea.

Chukwuemeka had been on Barça’s radar even before he joined Chelsea from Aston Villa for €20 million back in 2022.

The Blaugrana have continued to monitor the English youngster and are said to have retained an interest in his services this summer too.

Now, the doors at Stamford Bridge are open for Chukwuemeka to leave before the transfer window closes due to the overcrowding of players at the London club.

The young midfielder was not part of the matchday squad for Chelsea in their Premier League season opener against Manchester City, with manager Enzo Maresca confirming that it was purely a ‘technical decision’.

With the club looking to make some cuts, Chukwuemeka could be allowed to leave, even on loan, despite the fact that his transfer value stands at around £40 million.

Clubs like Crystal Palace and Napoli are interested while Barcelona will also be attentive to the situation, although the youngster’s wages could be an impediment.
