Chelsea star provides Hull City man with advice following recent loan agreement | OneFootball

Hull City confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea starlet Harvey Vale on Deadline Day, with the young midfielder embarking on his first spell away from the Premier League club.

The 18-year-old, who has generated excitement during his progression within the youth set up, made his Chelsea debut in December of last year, proceeding to feature in another couple of cup matches as the season progressed.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Vale can also operate slightly deeper in a number eight role and on either wing.

One player who has given the 18-year-old some advice for his loan stint with the Tigers is England and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, with Vale recalling the conversation whilst in conversation with Hull Live: “During pre-season, I was thinking about going on loan, I spoke to a few of the boys who have done it.

“For example, Mason, I was speaking to him about it.

“He was saying that it’s tough at first, but it’s part of growing up. Everyone has to do it, so just make sure I keep in contact with family regularly. They’re going to come up and visit me. It’s part of life, no matter what age. At my age, I’ve got people going off to uni and stuff like that.”

The verdict

It is excellent for Vale to have the support he will have around him, both at Chelsea and Hull, with Mount particularly being someone who can play a pivotal role in Vale’s loan spell.

Succeeding on a temporary stint with Derby County a few years ago, his time in the Championship proved to be an excellent stepping stone to reaching the first team.

Still just 18 years of age, the future is bright for the Chelsea loanee who has the potential to enjoy a very productive stint with the Tigers.

Chelsea and Hull are seemingly building a strong connection and it will be interesting to see if Vale can help bolster it even further.
