Chelsea are set to receive a fixed fee of £12m from Burnley with a further £2.7m in add ons for Bashir Humphreys according to Fabrizio Romano.

It’s been a busy summer for the Blues with a number of new signings coming through the door at Stamford Bridge and Joao Felix is set to be the next one to arrive, whilst a deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is still a possibility.

The club are set to be busy before the end of the window as they look to move on a number of players in order to reduce the squad size.

Chelsea to get nearly £15m for Humphreys

Progress on outgoings had been slow but it’s picked up recently with deals now being agreed for the likes of Armando Broja, Diego Moreira and Mason Burstow, whilst Conor Gallagher is finally set to complete his move to Atletico Madrid.

The Blues are still looking to move on Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah and Kepa Arrizabalaga, but the next departure it set to be Humphreys.

It was reported last week that the 21-year-old was going to join Burnley and now Romano has reported the details of the deal.

He took to X.com and said:

“Burnley and Chelsea have signed all documents for Bashir Humphreys deal. Exclusive details of the deal: £12m fixed fee, £2.7m add-ons and there will be also undisclosed sell-on clause. Humphreys, new Burnley player. Here we go and story confirmed.”

Humphreys joined Chelsea from Reading under-18s back in 2019 and has had loan spells at German side SC Paderborn and Swansea.

Despite featuring regularly for the club’s under-18 and under-21 sides the defender has only made two appearances for the first team.

Humphreys already has experience of the Championship having spent last season on loan at Swansea and a move to Burnley gives him a great chance of playing Premier League football, with the Clarets one of the favourites to win promotion this season.

This is a move that appears to suit all parties with Chelsea getting a good fee and Humphreys getting the chance to play regular first team football which will help develop his game.
