Chelsea winger Diego Moreira to sign for Strasbourg

Chelsea FC winger Diego Moreira (20) will sign for BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club Racing Club de Strasbourg, according to a report from L’Equipe. Unlike Chelsea loanees Caleb Wiley (19) and Andrey Santos (20), the Portuguese winger will join Les Alsaciens on a permanent basis. Moreira is no stranger to Ligue 1 football considering he spent the first half of the past Ligue 1 season on loan at Olympique Lyonnais.

The SL Benfica youth product made nine appearances for Les Gones before being recalled by Chelsea, with which he is under contract until 2028. The outlet understands that Strasbourg’s pursuit of Moreira follows the Ligue 1 club’s failure to lure FC Porto winger Gonçalo Borges. Sacha Tavolieri understands that Strasbourg’s outlay for Moreira rises to €2m and that Chelsea are expected to include a buyback clause in its Strasbourg contract.
