Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana suffers season-ending injury | OneFootball

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana (24) has suffered a hamstring injury that is set to keep him out of action for the rest of the season. This is a major blow for the Premier League club as they still look to secure Champions League football for next term and to win the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The France international has had a torrid record with injuries during his senior career. Whilst playing for AS Saint-Étienne, Leicester City and Chelsea, Fofana has missed a combined 912 days worth of action due to injury. The centre-back has already missed 18 games this season for the Blues.

Fofana is expected to be out for several weeks and will work with the medical staff at Cobham as he looks to complete his rehabilitation. Chelsea are set to feature in the FIFA Club World Cup during the summer. It remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old will be available for the competition.
