The 29-year-old is a well-established player in the European club game. Sáez has played her football in Spain for the last seven years. She joined latest club Madrid CFF in 2023.

On the international stage, Sáez is a hugely experienced player within the Chilean national team. She has 71 senior caps for her country.

After joining The Hammers, Sáez said “I’m really excited to be here and I hope to repay the trust the Club has shown to bring me to East London.

“It’s very difficult to get the opportunity to play in the Women’s Super League. I feel proud to bring Chile to the league and with that, comes a lot of responsibility to ensure others can follow.

“I’m a defender who loves being up for the fight, particularly in aerial battles and I think I’m good at playing from the back.

“West Ham is a big club that deserves to get to the top. With a lot of hard work, I hope we will achieve that together.”

Sáez is West Ham United’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
