Chivas have offered their condolences to Brazilian side Palmas following a tragic plane crash on Sunday.
Four players, the club president, and the pilot were all killed in the incident.
The club confirmed that the victims were president Lucas Meira, players Lucas Praxedes, Guilherme Noé, Ranule and Marcus Molinari, as well as pilot Wagner Machado Júnior.
“The plane took off and crashed at the end of the runway at the Tocantinense Aviation Association,” a statement read. “We regret to report there are no survivors.”
Chivas posted a message of support to the Brazilian fourth-tier outfit.
“We deeply regret the passing of the president and players of the @PalmasFutebol as well as the pilot of the plane, after the plane crash this morning in Brazil,” a statement on the Flock’s Twitter account read.
“Our support, strength and solidarity for family, friends and fans.”
According to ESPN, the players and president were en route to Goiania for a Copa Verde tie with Vila Nova on Monday.
