Chivas attacker Alexis Vega claims his experience at the Tokyo Olympics has made him appreciate the standard in Liga MX all the more.
The 23-year-old caught the eye as he scored three goals and notched one assist to help Mexico claim Bronze at the recent Games.
While happy to test himself against some of the best U-23 talent in the world, Vega didn’t feel it was a step up in class for him.
“It was a very great experience to compete against top players from Europe. I think it was a pretty good learning experience,” he told Chivas TV.
“We played against players who play for Everton and Ajax and you see them and they don’t make much of a difference… I saw team-mates who are the same.
“They make a difference in the same way or much more, that gives us a lot of motivation that we can play in any team.”
Vega has been linked with a move to Europe after his Olympic heroics.
However, for now he is still very much a member of the Flock as they prepare to face Santos Laguna on Sunday.
