Clarke-Salter to go? 2 QPR players who face an uncertain end of August | OneFootball

FLW takes a look at two QPR players who could potentially attract interest before the transfer deadline.

Queens Park Rangers have had a busy summer so far, and there could yet be further activity before deadline day.

QPR have brought in a number of new players during the summer transfer window, such as striker Zan Celar, midfielder Jonathan Varane, and winger Karamoko Dembélé.

There have also been a few departures from Loftus Road in the last couple of months, including the sale of Sinclair Armstrong to Bristol City, Charlie Kelman's loan move to Leyton Orient, and Taylor Richards' season-long switch to Cambridge United.

The R's started their 2024/25 Championship campaign with a disappointing home defeat to West Bromwich Albion, before they picked up a respectable point at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United in the second league game of the season, despite being down to 10 men.

In between those two fixtures, they also edged past Cambridge in the first round of the Carabao Cup to set up a second round clash with Luton Town at Loftus Road on August 27.

QPR will travel to Kenilworth Road to face the Hatters again in the league three days later, and will hope to have all their key players present for a game which is set to kick-off just a few hours before the summer transfer window closes.

Let's take a look at two players who could potentially leave QPR before then, if bids arrive for their services.

Jake Clarke-Salter

One player who has been the subject of transfer interest this summer is Jake Clarke-Salter.

The defender has been linked with a move to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, who reportedly wanted to replace Max Kilman, who signed for West Ham United, with the 26-year-old.

It has become apparent that Wolves only have £20 million to spend during the remainder of the transfer window, despite receiving nearly five times that amount in transfer fees, and they are yet to sign a centre-back to replace Kilman.

Therefore, it would not be a huge surprise to see them come in with an offer for Clarke-Salter, who was said to be valued at £10 million by QPR earlier this summer.

There may also be other clubs that take an interest in Clarke-Salter as we get closer to the transfer deadline, especially considering he is a left-footed, homegrown centre-back who could be available for an affordable price.

It will be interesting to see if a club does make an offer for the central defender, and whether QPR entertain it if there is any interest, but he is certainly one player who could potentially be facing an uncertain end to the month.

Rayan Kolli

It wouldn't be a shock if a League One club potentially makes an ambitious attempt to sign young winger Rayan Kolli on loan before the end of the transfer window.

Following the arrival of Dembélé, the Hoops now have a few options in wide areas, and that could make Kolli's game-time limited from here on in.

He did not even make the squad for QPR's most recent game against Sheffield United, while he was an unused substitute in the Carabao Cup win over Cambridge - that is despite registering an assist on the opening day of the season against West Brom.

The 19-year-old is a real prospect at Loftus Road, but he could potentially benefit from a loan until January at a club where he can play regular first team football.

Sending the youngster on loan could even benefit QPR, if he returns in good form midway through the season, having gained experience at another club.

There is no doubt that Kolli could contribute for the R's during the first half of the season if he is given an opportunity and finds his feet quickly, but there is also a chance that he could leave on loan before the end of August.
