Claudio Ranieri Making Jokes After Roma Dramatic Win at Lecce

Roma left it late to beat Serie A minnows Lecce 1-0 yesterday and maintain their incredible form in 2025. Claudio Ranieri cut a forlorn figure as his side wasted numerous chances before Artem Dovbyk netted ten minutes from time to seal their third win in the last four matches against the Via del Mare outfit.
Dovbyk’s 11th Serie A goal this season proved enough for three points in Apulia as Roma posted their seventh consecutive league win to stay within touching distance of fourth-placed Bologna. Indeed, only four points separate the two teams ahead of the last eight rounds.
However, Roma displayed a wasteful finishing against Lecce, with just one of their 17 shots on goal ending behind Wladimiro Falcone’s back.
“I told the players, we must reach the summer without regrets,” Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia via TMW. “We must give our all, never surrender on any ball, there are only eight matches to go and they will all be as difficult as it was today, then we accept the results and see where we are.
“I thank you, but I went into the locker room and told the lads, how dare you, you’re trying to take me to an early grave! It’s lucky I had all the cardiac tests,” the Roma manager laughed after a dramatic triumph against Marco Giampaolo’s side.
Roma will likely have to be more clinical to make it eight Serie A wins on the trot when they meet Juventus at home next weekend.
