Clermont Foot 38 are set to sign Spartak Moscow striker Shamar Nicholson (26) on Deadline Day, according to a report from L’Equipe.
The Auvergne side are currently bottom of the Ligue 1 table after losing their first three opening games, scoring only two goals in the process. Pascal Gastien’s side are in need of a centre-forward to kickstart their season and are set to sign Jamaican international striker Shamal Nicholson.
The 26-year-old currently plays for Spartak Moscow. The outlet does not yet know the transfer fee being agreed between Clermont and Spartak Moscow for the signing of Nicholson nor the contract’s duration of the Jamaican.
The 40-time Jamaica international came to prominence with RSC Charleroi in Jupiler Pro League. In three seasons, he found the back of the net 30 times in 76 league games played. Nicholson joined Spartak Moscow 18 months ago. He only scored four goals in 27 appearances this past campaign.
