Earlier on Friday, several media reports in Mexico had reported that América’s Nicolás Castillo had suffered a second blood clot which required emergency surgery.
Thankfully for everyone involved, that was not the case. América put out an official message on their social networks denying a second surgery and that Castillo will be discharged from the hospital imminently.
Castillo suffered a dangerous thrombosis last week and had to be rushed to the hospital to have surgery to remove a blood clot in his femoral artery.
Fortunately, the initial surgery was a success and the Chilean has not suffered any setbacks since. A timetable for his return to training has yet to be determined.
