Clyde have announced the return of striker David Goodwillie on loan from Raith Rovers until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old left Broadwood to join Rovers in January and signed a long-term contract at the club but the move was immediately met with outcry.
That relates to a civil court case in 2017, the first of its kind in Scotland, which saw Goodwillie ruled a rapist by the judge.
As a result, several sponsors pulled their support for the club. Several staff members and directors also resigned along with the captain of the club’s women’s team.
Raith Rovers then approached Clyde to take the striker back on loan until the end of the season, which has been accepted.
“This enables David to return to first team activities including training and playing and, in doing so, continue his career in football at the current time,” read a Clyde statement.
Although he never faced a criminal trial, Goodwillie was forced to pay £100,000 in damages by Edinburgh’s Court of Sessions.
He has been capped three times for Scotland, scoring once.
