If the league form wasn’t enough of a cloud over AC Milan as we end 2024, there is now an injury crisis to deal with as well.
Calciomercato.com report that Paulo Fonseca has lost two more players in view of the league match against Verona, in addition to Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Firstly, Yunus Musah will still be out due to a problem with his flexor which caused him to miss the Genoa game on Sunday.
The American is scheduled to return for the match against Roma at the end of December but the situation is more serious for Noah Okafor, who – in the final minutes of the match against the Grifone – suffered a muscular problem in his calf.
It is a first degree lesion of the soleus muscle too and the Swiss will be re-evaluated in 10 days, but will certainly miss the Verona and risks having to sit out for a month. It comes after the former Red Bull Salzburg man skipped the Champions League match against Red Star due to back pain.

To deal with the emergency and the lack of options for both the playmaker and right wing spots, Fonseca should rely on Samuel Chukwueze again on the right flank, plus several Milan Futuro players.
Alex Jimenez should start at left-back again but there could also be starts for Mattia Liberali and Francesco Camarda, who will at least be among those called up. Then, a chance might arrive for Filippo Scotti, a right winger who has 10 goal contributions for the Primavera this season.
