Kyle Walker is hoping to hoist the Coppa Italia trophy to the sky on Wednesday night, and it could well be his last big act at AC Milan.
Milan arrived in Rome late yesterday afternoon with a clear objective in mind: to win the sixth Coppa Italia in their history. The mission began with Sergio Conceicao being focused on the best possible formation to get the better of an opponent like Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna.
As Calciomercato.com write, two of his doubts are whether to go with the recently impressive duo of Alex Jiménez and Luka Jovic, or whether to focus on the winning mentality of Walker and a resurgent bomber like Santiago Gimenez.
Walker wanted to leave the comfort zone of the Premier League in the winter to try an experience abroad at 34 years old. The goal was to help Milan get into the top four and thus seal a Champions League place, making the €5m option to buy an easy decision.

The main goal has vanished but there is another equally important one: to win the Italian Cup and add it to the list of personal honours. Walker has won the Champions League, a Club World Cup, six Premier League titles, the Charity Shield, two FA Cups and four League Cups.
The match against Bologna could be Walker’s last important match in a red and black shirt because Milan have decided not to exercise their option to buy him. Two factors weigh heavily on the choice: Jimenez’s explosion and the elbow injury which kept him out of a crucial stretch in the season.
