The Crew are at it again, folks. The MLS Cup champions found themselves 2-0 down at home to Inter Miami and their Leagues Cup campaign appeared to be on its way to fizzling out. But you can’t keep Columbus down for long…
Wilfried Nancy’s side had been behind the eight-ball throughout most of the opening hour of their Round-of-16 clash with Luis Suárez and co., but the champs turned around their fortunes in a flash after Diego Gomez put the visitors two ahead.
The turnaround was kicked off by a stroke of luck when Christian Ramirez’s shot took a big deflection before finding the back of the net.
From there, blood was in the water and the Crew took advantage. The leveller hit the back of the net just two minutes after Ramirez cut the deficit, sparking wild celebrations among the home faithful.
The wind appeared to be all but gone from the Inter Miami sails, and the home side completed the turnaround in style, nabbing the lead through Diego Rossi.
What a comeback from the champs, what a collapse from Inter Miami!
