Serie A side Como picked up a 3-1 win over Cagliari today and Cesc Fabregas was asked about his future after the tie.
Bayer Leverkusen are said to be pursuing a move for the Spaniard and they see him as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, who is on the way to Real Madrid to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
Fabregas spoke to the press after the game and he was asked about how he feels about his future and he revealed that he is grateful about being given the opportunity to make a mark at Como and he has built a strong foundation at the Serie A side already.
He said, via Di Marzio: “I want to leave an important legacy, because whoever comes after me will find something good. I am very calm. If you are good today, do the same thing in the next match and lose, you are no longer good. But my message has never changed.”
Speaking further, the former Spain midfielder stated: “Whatever happens I will thank this company, I am very proud of what we are seeing in Como.”
Fabregas’ side are currently at tenth in the Serie A and have risen up quite dramatically, after having initially been near the relegation zone.
They have spent heavily but Fabregas has played a key role in helping the team build an identity, with Roma also interested in him.
