He said at the press conference: “This victory is important for everyone, for the team, our fans and the whole city deserved a night like this. Tonight it wasn’t the tactics that were important but our desire to win, we are Como and we know our standard. To win against the big teams we have to do more than them.

“Maybe it will happen that, even if we play well like tonight, we won’t win but we must always give our all like today and continue to work like this.”

Alli, who has been without a club since his release from Everton in the summer, has been linked with a move to the Inter. But his presence in the stands in the game sparked talked about a move to Como.

Fabregas was asked directly about it and the Spaniard revealed that the Englishman will train with them till the end of the month.

“I don’t want to talk about that, now let’s enjoy this victory. He could train with us after Christmas to find his form but tonight we’ll talk about Como and Gabrielloni.”

The win helped Como rise up to 16th in the table and it has been some weeks since they came out of the relegation zone.
