Newly promoted Como are keen to make a splash in Serie A and have reportedly started targeting Galatasaray’s Mauro Icardi and Inter owned Joaquin Correa.
Cesc Fabregas’ side have officially booked their spot in the topflight after securing a second-place finish in Serie B this term, returning to the highest level for the first time in 21 years. They are expected to bolster their squad in the summer to help with their first year back in Serie A.
Como are backed by Indonesian billionaires Michael and Robert Hartono, who own tobacco giants Djarum, making them some of the richest club owners in Italian football. Various footballing figures are involved with the club, including Thierry Henry and Dennis Wise.
As reported by local paper La Provincia via TMW, Como are keen to prove their ambitions in the transfer market and have started targeting Galatasaray striker Icardi and Inter owned forward Correa, who is expected to return from Olympique Marseille in the coming weeks.
Both players would represent important reinforcements for Fabregas’ side, whose highest value player is currently Lecce loanee Gabriel Strefezza, worth €6m.
