An update on the injury progress being made by Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has today come to the fore online.
And the news points towards the 17-year-old as being increasingly unlikely to play his part in the Blaugrana’s post-international break return to action.
Youngster Lamine was for his part condemned to a spell on the sidelines two weekends ago.
After the attacker was forced to sit out Barcelona’s La Liga defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad, confirmation was forthcoming that he had suffered ‘a grade 1 high right ankle sprain’.
Lamine, in turn, withdrew from international duty with Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad.
Ensuing reports in the media pointed towards the medical staff in Catalunya’s capital as having been hopeful of the winger being passed fit in time to play at least some part against Celta Vigo this weekend.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word to have surfaced over the last 24 hours is anything to go by, then as much is beginning to look increasingly unlikely.
As per a report from the reliable Tot Costa:
‘Lamine has few options to play in Vigo. It is not completely ruled out, but in the dressing room they assure that they will be very cautious, he is very young and above all they have a very clear precedent with ankle problems.’
