Manchester City take on Leicester City in the first of their final nine Premier League games of the season at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Pep Guardiola’s men reached the FA Cup semi-final for a record seventh consecutive season by coming from behind to claim a 2-1 win against Bournemouth at the weekend.
However, City’s main man Erling Haaland limped off with an ankle injury and is expected to spend five to seven weeks out injured after undergoing further tests on his injury in Manchester and Barcelona since.
Manuel Akanji, John Stones and Nathan Ake remain on the sidelines for the Premier League champions, who are also missing Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
Nico O’Reilly earned huge plaudits for his player-of-the-match display against Bournemouth on Sunday, providing two assists after coming on at half-time to drag City over the line.
City have two objectives between now and the end of the season – finishing in the Premier League top four and winning an eighth FA Cup title.
Nottingham Forest, who beat City before the international break and currently sit in third place in the Premier League table, will come up against the Blues in the FA Cup semi-final.
However, Guardiola will be chanting his mantra of taking it one game at a time and that begins against Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester City in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
