he rumored contract extension for German winger Robin Hack has now been made official by Hack's top flight club. Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed a two-year-extension for the 26-year-old on Thursday afternoon. Hack new deal in Niederrhein now runs through 2029. The German foals - in a rather sordid state following a poor start to the season - deliberately timed the news so as give the team some impetus heading into the coming Bundesliga weekend.

Hack ended up being Gladbach's leading goalscorer last season with ten goals in 29 league appearances. Hack opened up his 2023/24 Bundesliga account with a brace against VfB Stuttgart on match-day 17. Another brace in a 3-3 draw with Köln on match-day 22 popularized the term (using the German word for brace) "Robin hack Doppelpack". Hack would also score a hat trick against Hoffenheim on match-day 30.

“We brought Robin from second division relegated team Arminia Bielefeld a little over a year ago because we were convinced of his quality and potential," BMG sporting director Roland Virkus noted in a statement. "He has repaid this trust in full. The new long-term contract is an expression of his development and a clear signal of how comfortable Robin feels at Borussia.”
