Former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher was forced to have to made a choice between legends John Terry and Frank Lampard, as well as others.
Gallagher of course is no longer a Chelsea player, making the switch to La Liga to play for Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window.
But he will always hold the club close to his heart, having been here since he was a young kid coming up through the famous academy ranks at Cobham.
Imagine having to made a choice between club legends like John Terry or Frank Lampard, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink or Diego Costa? Rather not have to do that myself, but this is what Gallagher was forced to have to do this week in a ‘game’ he agreed to play for ESPN.
Lampard is Gallagher’s pick
Gallagher was tasked by ESPN to play a game of ‘You have to answer’, where the premise is to pick one player over another.
He was tasked with picking Diego or Jimmy, to which he responded, “Oh my god, what are these?”
“Me and Jimmy are friends but I didn’t really watch him growing up,” Gallagher continued. “So I’ve got to go with Diego because he was unbelievable for Chelsea and Atletico.”
He was then tasked to pick between two icons around Stamford Bridge – Frank Lampard and John Terry. There was one clear winner for Gallagher, however, his ‘idol’ – Lampard.
Gallagher said: “Frank Lampard. He was my idol growing up. But they were both were, to be honest.”
If I truly had to pick, I would go with the opposite answers to Gallagher personally. I’ve never seen a better ball-striker at the club than Hasselbaink, and I’ve never seen a better captain at the club than Terry.
