The news that AC Milan are closing in on signing Youssouf Fofana could well be met with developments regarding the future of Yacine Adli, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) state that in the event that Milan were to successfully close the long negotiations with Monaco for Fofana, they would then have to sell at least one foreign ‘Over 22’ player in order to register the Frenchman.

The main suspect to leave Milan is Adli, a player who is hoping to stay at the club but has admirers in the Saudi Pro League. There is some timid interest from Brentford, a team in the English Premier League, but nothing concrete has come forward from England.

CorSport state that no formal bids have arrived on the desk of Giorgio Furlani and Zlatan Ibrahimović to evaluate, but that is something that is ‘destined to change’. Adli runs the risk of being left out of the squad lists for Serie A and the Champions League entirely if he stays, due to the regulations.

The other players that have been linked with an exit from the midfield department are Ismael Bennacer (also has admirers in Saudi Arabia) as well as Tommaso Pobega, but things are quieter on those fronts.
