With AC Milan considering parting ways with Paulo Fonseca, a decision must be made about who a potential replacement may be. However, there seems to be a difference in the ideal candidates from the management’s and the fans’ perspectives.
It is fair to say that in the summer, Fonseca was not a favoured candidate, and now, his future at the club looks short. He has failed to change perceptions of him and his football, and now Milan are in a difficult place.
The Rossoneri have only won once in their opening five competitive, the other four games have been immensely disappointing, and they have deserved to be beaten in each of them, even if they salvaged a draw in two games.
If a replacement is to arrive, it must be a coach that the fans and the management aligns with, and at present, it seems there is a difference in the favoured successors.
As Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports, the management would prefer to appoint Edin Terzic or Thomas Tuchel, and the latter has offered his willingness to negotiate to the club. Alternatively, the fans would prefer a domestic option, seeking Maurizio Sarri or Massimiliano Allegri as the next head coach – this viewpoint could also be held by Gerry Cardinale.
