AC Milan seemed to be on a path towards hiring Fabio Paratici as their new sporting director, but now new possibilities have opened up again.
There were widespread reports that Milan would hire Paratici after weeks of talks, but then it emerged from various sources on Friday that the discussions have broken down for various reasons, mostly relating to his operability and upcoming Prisma trial.
Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) confirms that there has been a setback in the talks with Paratici and thus the process of identifying and agreeing a deal with the new sporting director will start again.
Igli Tare was the first to be contacted in chronological order in February by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so he returns to the race. However, Tony D’Amico of Atalanta is another name, and he met at the beginning of March with Giorgio Furlani.
Without Paratici, then, the plans for the new coach would also have to change. There could have been a possible assault on Antonio Conte and Roberto De Zerbi but now Milan’s plans could be different.
The club admire Vincenzo Italiano of Bologna and Cesc Fabregas of Como. The possible surprise Gian Piero Gasperini should be kept an eye on, especially if D’Amico were to arrive as sporting director.
